This is an Age of Data. The quantitative data analysis plays a more and more important role in our daily lives. “What is your credit score? How much percentage of discounts you can get in obtaining a loan with that score?”,” NBA superstar LeBron James scored 27 points today and how is the team’s chance of winning historically when he scored 27 points?” Unknowingly, we are already well placed in the ocean of quantitative data analysis.

Amid China’s rapid development in the 21st century, the number of Chinese students studying in the United States has increased too. Tens of thousands of Chinese students pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies have contributed to the swift growth of international student population in the United States. Behind this growth, many students actually made unwise or even wrong decisions in the application process. So, they asked for help of the so-called experts, who unfortunately sometimes based their analysis on their own experiences and feelings. Consequently, perceptual knowledge runs all through the application process.

STATTEK is concerned about analyzing and comparing the data related to the application process of studying abroad. How to make quantitative analysis of students’ application goals and universities’ admission targets? How to turn the data into a bridge connecting students and universities?

We have established a system on the Internet, with the following functional units:

Probability analysis of application: When you input your personal information, such as GPA and TOEFL score, the system will produce a diagram outlining your index value, suggest the universities you can apply for, and show the relevant admission probability. Automatically, STATTEK will provide an individual application analysis report in accordance to the university, and demonstrate the methods and rationales for getting the probability.

Probability of multiple application targets and optimized mix: You may choose to apply for many universities, and we will calculate the probability of your choices in accordance to your specific conditions – the possibility that you will get admitted by at least one university. This is difficult because our intuition tells us the admission of different universities is not isolated. If one applicant is rejected by Harvard University, there’s a high possibility that he or she will be rejected by Princeton University too. Our system will also offer an optimized selection list of universities for your reference.

To understand your competitors: In the analysis report, you will see the index values of other students who are also interested in the university, so you will be aware of your advantages and disadvantages. In addition, we will present the data of successful or failed applicants in the past in the form of scatter diagram, which includes your competition point and enables you to understand the chances of getting accepted or declined.

To find “like-minded" friends: Our system is an open social networking site where you can find and connect with students who are preparing for overseas study.

We will dedicate ourselves to continuously improving and upgrading the quantitative analysis system. In the near future, we hope establish a comprehensive online application platform, where people will access different kinds of analysis reports for informed decision-making. For example, we will introduce the “application tracing service” to show the progress in comparison to all applicants.

Just like our slogan shows, we wish to help you to be more goal-orientated and provide quantitative analysis to assist the application so you will have a broader, better view to make decisions.
